What Happened to Water?

Yes, high fructose corn syrups (HFCS) provide a sweeter taste than other sweeteners and are relatively cheap to manufacture. But is it worth the extra 132+ cal a day that Americans consume on HFCS alone? Did you know that from 1977 to 1998 the greatest increase in caloric sweetener intake was from fruit drinks (i.e. SunnyD, Caprisun, Kool-Aid, and other fruit juices) and soft drinks like Pepsi and Coke?
